Editorial guidelines

Bunk Ledger is a desk publication for drivers who live in a sleeper. The byline on every guide is "Bunk Ledger editors." There is no staff clinician, no named road tester, and no photo of a person presented as our expert. If a sentence does not say we measured it, we did not.

What a guide is allowed to claim

A number gets printed when we can point at a manufacturer page, a manual, or a listing that is clearly repeating one. Inch conversions from millimeters use 25.4 mm to the inch and are labeled as conversions. Where two sources disagree, the sentence says so. Where we are not confident, the sentence says to check the listing.

We do not invent reviews, star ratings, prices, quotes, or hands-on results. A listing's own claim stays attributed to the listing.

Photos

Scene photos are real photographs stored in this repository. The licence and the photographer are recorded on the photo credits page. A CC BY or CC BY-SA hero says who took the photo. Product boxes use a matching photo or a plain graphic. The alt text describes that picture. It is not an Amazon image.

Money and ads

Amazon buttons go to a search on Amazon. They use rel="nofollow sponsored noopener". If you buy through one, we may earn a commission, and the page says so above the fold. The commission does not set the price and does not decide which model is listed. This build's affiliate tag is empty until someone sets it in the config, so the links are ordinary searches.

Advertising scripts are not loaded unless an AdSense client id is set in the same config. An empty id means no ad code in the HTML.

What we will not do

We do not give medical, legal, tax, or money advice. Hours-of-service rules, prescriptions, and a carrier's equipment policy outrank this site. We do not explain how to get around a company rule, how to modify a radio, or how to idle where idling is restricted.

Health notes are habits and shopping checks: water you will actually drink, a shoe with tread, a dark bunk. They are not treatment.
